Skateland

Fun, family oriented skating rink serving Upshur County for 62 years! Open to the public September – May on Friday & Saturday nights (7 PM – 9 PM) and Sunday afternoons (2 PM – 4 PM).  The roller-rink is an open space, complete with handrails along the sides (perfect for beginners).

Admission is $5 (including roller-skate rentals).  Book the rink for your private party, too!

Paradise in the Woods

Paradise in the Woods is a private property with a 3/4 mile long driveway to your own haven in the woods. Our cabin has a game room with a pool table overlooking the beautiful Buckhannon River, surrounded by the forest. There is an easy walking path to a peaceful and secluded swimming area.

Cabin sleeps up to 12 people and is pet friendly for an additional fee.

Opera House

The Opera House is a full-service catering facility & entertainment venue housed in 3 Historic structures, located in the Heart of Historic downtown Buckhannon. In the 1930’s these three separate buildings were connected and opened-up on the 1st floor to accommodate the G.C. Murphy Company 5 & 10 store, which operated here through the 1980’s, before giving in to the big box retailers. We have Transformed the space into a Beautiful Event Center with 100-year old hardwood floors, Coffered Ceilings, Exposed Brick, Colorful Lighting & Stylish Decor. We can seat up to 200-Guests for dinner, have an elevated Stage for entertainment and Stylish Bar to get the Party Going. There is a Green Room off the stage with a full bath, wet bar and make­up table to accommodate everyone’s expectations.
