Planetarium at WV Wesleyan

The Planetarium features a different show every other Saturday complete with a tour of the evening sky and sky charts.

Showtimes are at 8 pm on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month; Each shows last about 1 hour.   Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students/seniors, children under 18 free when accompanied by an adult.  No reservations are required – first come, first serve.

Telescope observing follows the show, weather permitting.

Half the fun is the drive out to Gaines Diner! Travel on Route 20 South, and then veer left to stay on Route 20. Drive a few miles, then turn left onto Gaines Road by the Arlington Mini Mart. Follow Gaines Road for about 3-4 miles…. You might think you missed it, but just when you might give up, you’ll see the Gaines Diner on the left, with a white fence around it!

The Buckhannon Antique Mall carries thousands of antiques and older collectibles, and is located 2 1/2 miles north of Buckhannon on the Clarksburg Road (Rt. 20 North). The Antique Mall is open 7 days a week, and has been open continuously for more than twenty years. The large parking lot is accessible to tour buses & motor homes.

Opera House

The Opera House is a full-service catering facility & entertainment venue housed in 3 Historic structures, located in the Heart of Historic downtown Buckhannon. In the 1930’s these three separate buildings were connected and opened-up on the 1st floor to accommodate the G.C. Murphy Company 5 & 10 store, which operated here through the 1980’s, before giving in to the big box retailers.
