One of life’s simplest joys is being outside in the fresh air. Our area has a variety of options of trail loops and paths to keep you exploring Wild & Wonderful West Virginia.

Upshur County Trails is a grass-roots trails system cared for by dedicated volunteers. Trail blazers are constantly maintaining and forging new sections. This is a kid-friendly intermediate trail, that is open for mountain bikers and leashed dogs, too. Get a full trail description and map.

Old Oak Trail at the West Virginia Wildlife Center is a bit of a hidden gem. Visitors & local alike often frequent the paved walkway at the Wildlife Center to see the native animals of West Virginia….. But you can also access the Old Oak Trail that gets you deeper into the forest and loops around a small pond. See a facility map for more information.

Audra State Park is one of West Virginia’s rustic state parks. The scenic property is famous for large rocks scattered throughout the Middle Fork River, and the untouched natural landscape. Camp sites are secluded, with many close enough to see & hear the rush of the river. Trails include the Alum Cave Trail which has the popular section of trail that is beneath a rock over-hang, plus rewards hikers with views of the river. Another small trail loop is Rock Cliff Trail. One of the easiest trails that happens to be flat & paved is the Riverwalk Park in downtown Buckhannon. It has two loops that wrap around sports fields at WV Wesleyan College and follows parts of the Buckhannon River. **BONUS FEATURE** This trail also is home of the Buckhannon Dog Park! The parks are at the end of Camden Avenue in Buckhannon.

Art of Eden Cottage

Art of Eden Cottage and Retreat is located on 74 acres of private land featuring walking trails through the woods, streams and meadows. Mountain spring water supplies the newly renovated kitchen and bath. Currently, we have 2 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 4 guests. Artists, writers, bird watchers and star gazers are welcome. Or maybe you would prefer to read one of the many books available. Escape the city life and dare to be without phone, TV and internet. Disconnect and enjoy nature.

SYCC Flea Market

SYCC will be hosting a Flea Market Saturday, April 20th 8am-5pm. Anyone interested in setting up can reach us at 304-473-0145. Reserve a 10×10 space inside our gym for $25, or outside for $20. Payment must be no later than Monday, April 15.
