Upshur County Trails

Upshur County Trails unites users for mountain biking, trail running and hiking. The current 8+ mile trail system (and growing!) is located at the Upshur County Recreation Park. Built and run solely on the time and efforts of trail volunteers, this site is becoming a destination for riders all over West Virginia.

An extensive plan is underway for the continued development of trails, connecting Buckhannon to other systems throughout West Virginia. Use the link below for maps of current open trails, with elevation and trail stats. Get outside and #GoBikeBuckhannon.

Muskie-Lounge River Retreat

This secluded cabin is situated along the Buckhannon River. Conveniently located 2 miles from the Hampton boat launch, 3 miles from Upshur County Trails and Recreation Park, and 6 miles from downtown Buckhannon. The Antique Mall is open 7 days a week, and has been open continuously for more than twenty years. The large parking lot is accessible to tour buses & motor homes.

Opera House

The Opera House is a full-service catering facility & entertainment venue housed in 3 Historic structures, located in the Heart of Historic downtown Buckhannon. In the 1930’s these three separate buildings were connected and opened-up on the 1st floor to accommodate the G.C. Murphy Company 5 & 10 store, which operated here through the 1980’s, before giving in to the big box retailers. We have Transformed the space into a Beautiful Event Center with 100-year old hardwood floors, Coffered Ceilings, Exposed Brick, Colorful Lighting & Stylish Decor. We can seat up to 200-Guests for dinner, have an elevated Stage for entertainment and Stylish Bar to get the Party Going. There is a Green Room off the stage with a full bath, wet bar and make­up table to accommodate everyone’s expectations.
